Meet our Small Bunnies. They’re cute, cuddly and absolutely, totally adorable. This pattern supplies directions for making our Small Bunny.

This Small Bunny is suitable for advanced beginner knitters and assumes an understanding of basic stitches and standard knitting terms. An understanding of how to sew together stuffed animals is not required, but does make things easier. Our Small Bunnies are knit flat and sewn together using a mattress stitch.

If you’re new to knitting stuffed friends, or are uncomfortable winging it without strict guidelines (that’s OK, we all need good directions sometimes to help us out) you will need approximately 26 m of medium weight grey yarn and 9 m of medium weight white yarn for the inside of the ears and tail. With this yarn, use 4 mm (US size 6) needles. You will also need stuffing (we use ecofil or wool), a small amount of black yarn for the face and a tapestry needle to sew your small bunnies together. This will let you create a bunny that’s approximately 20 cm (8 inches), from the top of it’s head to it’s toes and is 13 cm (5 inches) long.

The beauty of knitting stuffed friends is that this pattern can be knit in any size yarn with accompanying needles. Generally we find using a size or two smaller needles than required by the yarn allows for the tightness needed when you’re stuffing your finished product.
