This dog hat is a new take on the traditional party hat in the shape of a cone. In order to make the hat stay on my dog, I designed “a hat within a hat” and simply sewed the cone part of the party hat onto a comfy fitted hat design.

The string that ties at the chin is purely decorative, and is actually sewn on with thread. I feel that it does add a little something to the design.

This project is super fun to work up, and the result is a sturdy and comfortable hat that is hilariously adorable! You may bedazzle your dog’s party hat with the beads and rhinestones of your choice, and even sew on a sparkly number if you wish. I went with a more universal look (without using any numbers) because I wanted to use the hat for future celebrations.
