THIS IS A KNITTING PATTERN, NOT SOCKS. Please read the pattern description.

Though Shark Week may have ended, I’ve decided to keep this promotion on as a bundle! You can get Shark Bait, Little Nibble, Catch of the Day, AND Small Fry as a bundle for only $15! Use coupon code “Aquatics Bundle” upon check out.

Crikey! had its turn being reimagined for kid feet, and now, it was Catch of the Day’s turn - so here we have Small Fry!

Simplified slightly to accommodate for smaller feet, these socks are knit mostly in stockinette, with some twisted rib features. The twisted rib fins and tail toe creates a fishy affect. Knit cuff down, the two jaws are knit separately before being joined in the round. The fins are knit separately from the sock, then sewn onto the sock at the end. Eyesockets aids with button placement, and create an additional visual feature. The pattern is 9 pages long. This pattern is written to work for any kind of knitting - whether that’s double pointed needles, two circular needles, a circular needle with magic loop, or any other in the round knitting style.

For more ideas as to how it knits up, be sure to check out the projects of Catch of the Day! It’ll look very similar.

Your only limit in yarn choice is yarn weight, this pattern shines in all colors and types. Rainbow fish, blue fish, pink fish, grey fish - your options are limitless! Heathered yarn, tweed, striped, variegated… You really can’t go wrong!

Don’t worry too much if your gauge isn’t an exact match, as long as you’re working up a relatively standard sock yarn gauge, you should be just fine.

Make sure to check out the projects shared by my test knitters! Their work is invaluable. Some are posted on Ravelry, but there are also some available to see on Instagram under the #smallfrysocks
