What do you get when you add a zebra’s stripes and a giraffe’s head to a horse’s body? Africa’s most unusual, elusive animal, the okapi!
Okapi’s are relatives of the giraffe; they have tongue’s over a foot long! They are very secretive and shy, but I’m positive that their gentle nature makes them sweet and cuddly.

With this pattern, you can crochet this cute little oddity. Your finished product will measure about 4” wide and 7” tall, depending on the yarn you use.

You will need:
• Worsted-weight yarn in brown, white, and black, and either self-striping yarn, or two colors.
• Size G hook (4 mm) crochet hook (brand does not matter)
• Fiberfill or stuffing
• Needle with a large eye
• Felt--any color
• Sewing thread and sewing needle
• 12 mm Plastic safety eye
• Poly pellets

Pattern is at an easy/intermediate level. You must know how to crochet in the round, single crochet, increase, decrease, slip stitch, and change color. Seven pages worth of instruction in English and pictures of both finished products and works in progress are included to help guide you along.
