Meet our adorable Small Pig. She’s cute, cuddly and very lovable.

This Pig is suitable for advanced beginner knitters and assumes an understanding of basic stitches, knitting short rows and other standard knitting terms. Our Small Pig is knit flat and sewn together using a mattress stitch.

If you’re new to knitting stuffed friends, or are uncomfortable winging it without strict guidelines (that’s OK, we all need good directions sometimes to help us out) you will need approximately 22 m of pink or grey medium weight yarn for the body. With this yarn, use 4 mm (US size 6) needles. You will also need a small amount of black yarn for embroidering the face, stuffing (we use ecofil or wool) and a tapestry needle to sew your pig together. This will let you create a pig that’s approximately 13 cm (5 inches) in length.

The beauty of knitting stuffed friends is that this pattern can be knit in any size yarn with accompanying needles. Generally we find using a size or two smaller needles than required by the yarn allows for the tightness needed when you’re stuffing your finished product.
