These small striped tomte (Swedish gnome) hats are first knit and then densely felted to hold their shape. Each one knits up fast and is perfect for topping Christmas trees and wine bottles, and are fun on tablescapes and mantles. This pattern includes two striped tomte hat variations - thin striped and thick striped.

The tomte hat is worked in the round starting from the bottom of the hat and worked up. It is a small project and knits up fast. Felting is completed in a top loading washing machine - instructions are included in the pattern. The finished felted hat is about 9” tall (before curling top) with a 2.5” base.
