This is a small version of my other top down Faroese shawl.

There is no gauge specified as the size will vary depending on the yarn and needles used. Knit this pattern as is or use it as a jumping off point for your own version!

Here’s what I did on the sample in the picture: I had 3 skeins of one color each in Unplanned Peacock’s DK weight and decided to use them together. I started with Honeysuckle at the top of the shawl and added the other 2 colors before starting the rib.

I didn’t want striping and was looking to combine the colors in a more blended way. When I was ready to add the other colors I began by adding the wheat on a right side row, then knitted across and added the forest on the wrong side row. This meant that every time I reached the end of a row I had a color available to pick up and every row was a different color with a three color repeat. The strands twisted nicely on each edge to make it look more balanced.

When I ran out of honeysuckle, I alternated wheat and forest for a couple of rows and ended with a few rows of forest.
