Created in memory of a very special lady, this colourful asymmetric shawl is a celebration of life, love and family. It reminds us that sometimes it’s OK, important even, to throw the rulebook out of the window and just eat Smarties for dinner! (Or other sweet treat of your choice!).

The shawl is knitted from side to side with yarn over increases, and it incorporates colour changes in the rainbows at either end, 2 stranded colour work in the rows of colourful “Smarties”, two decorative lace panels whose significance I explain in the pattern, and it is finished with an elastic bind off. Once blocked it has a finished size of around 250cm x 50cm.

For this shawl you will require:

● 3.25mm circular needle
● 300g of Scheepjes Catona, colour #130 (off white)
● 1 x 25g each of Scheepjes Catona in colours #115, 146, 280, 281, 389, 398 (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet)
