Smokeshow
Available without kit purchase now!
The textured cable pattern was chosen to showcase the Shadow colorway that Paola created for the Kora Club in September of 2023. This colorway is not one of the always-available shades in this yarn, but mYak has been offering it in limited quantities, and will have some on hand for the re-release of the pattern as a stand alone PDF in December.
This deep dark gray has a timeless quality to it, so I went with a classic buttoned vest in an allover cable pattern, for a knit that would be right at home in a library, curled up in a leather chair with your favorite book.
The overall cable pattern is subtle, with a bit of hidden texture, and the button bands are worked in twisted rib for added visual interest. The ribbed hem plays right into the cable pattern, and the overall effect is simple and classic.
Smokeshow is the kind of knit that may get noticed in any outfit you create, but it doesn’t look for the attention.
If you have purchased a Kora Club kit, and have an individual pattern download code from your mYak club shipment (on the postcard), follow the link below to redeem your code. This will allow you to download the pattern without any additional charge into your library.

Construction
Smokeshow is worked from the bottom up in one piece (including button bands). Body is separated into three pieces at armholes and continued upwards to shoulders. Once shoulders are complete, button bands are worked further in strips. After shoulders are seamed, these strips are sewn down along neckline and grafted together at center back neck. Stitches around armholes are picked up last and worked in the round in ribbing.
Errata: There was a small typo at the top of page 7 for the size 46.75” ONLY. You are putting 116 stitches on holder for back, not 115. The typo did not affect anything else, and has been corrected on the PDF.
