DESCRIPTION
Our Smooth Sailing Scarf is a beginner friendly thin scarf that can be worn around your neck, head, or tied in a bow around a ponytail. It was designed to use up scraps of fingering weight yarn and is a blank canvas for you to fill in with your favorite colors!
THIS IS A GREAT PATTERN FOR YOU IF:
- You want a quick and mindless project for on-the-go knitting.
- You need a good scrap busting project to cull your stash.
- You enjoy practical and pretty summer accessories.
SKILLS NEEDED
This pattern is suitable for a beginner knitter. Knitters should know how to do a long tail cast-on, how to do the basic knit stitch, and how to bind off.
YARN
Our Smooth Sailing Scarf is a blank canvas for you to fill in with your favorite colors. You can use many scraps leftover from all your favorite projects, or you can use a single favorite yarn scrap if you have enough. You will need a total of 100-200 yards/90-180 meters.
NEEDLES
Size 3 (3.25 mm) - straight or circular needles, or size needed to obtain gauge. Test knitters used anywhere from Size 0 (2.00 mm) to Size 3 (3.25 mm).
NOTIONS
Darning needle for weaving in ends.
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Width: 3 in/7.5 cm Length: Choose your own size or use the following suggested measurements:
Child: 28-32 in/70-80 cm
Adult S/M: 30-34 in/65-85 cm
Adult L: 32-36 in/80-90 cm
