It’s knitted hat season!

Fall in Texas isn’t like Fall elsewhere. We’re not cozying up in sweaters and kicking through fallen leaves; we’re enjoying brisk temps in the upper-80s and the possibility of leaving the house without immediately dissolving into a puddle of sweat.

Still, the coming of Autumn means we’re that much closer to my favorite season--Winter. And it means that I make all my family members new hats. Since there are a lot of people to knit for, I keep it pretty simple.

The Snake Toddler Beanie is a hat sized for a two-year-old with a super simple cable panel to give it just a bit of interest. If you’re new to cables, don’t worry--I’ve done my best to clearly explain the cabling part in plain English, and it’s only 14 stitches wide. I’ve also given simple instructions, including stitch count, at the same gauge for you to size it up for yourself in case you want matching parent/child hats.
