This is a great little party clutch. It’s designed to hold a cell phone and other necessities ladies like to carry. The sample finished to 7” wide by 6 ½” tall. If you would like a taller purse, knit more rows. If you would like a wider purse add stitches in multiples of 10 plus 7. After seaming I was left with slightly more than 5 yards left of my yarn.

The metal tape measure creates the closure and makes a nifty snapping sound when opening and closing the purse. If you don’t have an old tape measure laying around you want to cut up, your local dollar store should carry one for a small investment (and you can share with friends to make more!). You do need basic machine sewing skills to finish the lining. Essentially you’re making a rod pocket for the tape measure to go through and side seams, so just sewing straight lines.

If you make this purse, I would absolutely love it if you could post pictures. It’s always wonderful to see what people have made with the pattern!
