These wrist warmers were born out of necessity! My office is chilly in the winter, and I like to wear fingerless gloves or wrist warmers to keep my hands warm. BUT when my smartwatch buzzed with a notification, I couldn’t get to my watch screen. I searched unsuccessfully for a pattern online that had some sort of hole or flap for a watch screen. What?!?! Am I the only one with this problem??? I doubt it. So I decided to make my own, and I love them so much that I wrote up the pattern and tested it to make sure it was ready to share. Enjoy the pattern! I had seen the tulip stitch in a pattern book and had been wanting to try it out in a pattern- such a pretty lace that makes a beautiful edge. They are so fun to make and wear, I’m sure you’ll have lots of gift requests from friends, as well! They would make a great item for a craft fair. You are welcome to sell them, just please credit me as the designer.

As a side note, when I was making these, I dug into my stash to see what I had in a weight and color I like. I don’t like my fingerless mitts to be too thick, because then they get in the way of my typing, and I didn’t want the flap over the watch face to be cumbersome either. This yarn is a very light worsted, it almost knits up more like a DK, and I absolutely ADORE the color. It fit the bill perfectly! I will have a matching hat (and maybe a cowl, as well?) coming soon!

Enjoy!
