I was knitting up a pair of Snip Snap Socks, and had a stroke of inspiration. Wouldn’t this method work to create a pair of fingerless mitts too? Why yes it would, and I could do it in a way that would leave me half a skein to knit some Snip Snap Shorties or a second pair of Smitts for myself too. It is better to give AND receive! Happy Knitting! Purchase Snip Snap Shorties and Snip Snap Mitts and receive $1 off your total automatically at checkout!

These fingerless mitts are knit in the round from top cuff to top cuff and are separated in the middle after knitting. An afterthought thumb is knit and then cuff ribbing is knit.

This patterning works best on tonal, semi-solid, speckled, and solid yarns. Leave off the patterning if you are knitting self-striping, or highly variegated yarns.

I’ve designed these mitts to make YOU happy. They are called Snip Snap Smitts because they can be made in a snap! Knit them in whatever way makes you happy. 9inch circs, DPNs, Magic Loop, and any size needle you like for achieving your perfect fabric works with this method.
