I don’t know about you, but I have lots of minis and leftovers from other projects(mostly lots of socks!!!) hanging around in my stash. I’ve just learned some of the basics of helical knitting, and it seemed to me that if I combined helical knitting with my Snip Snaps, I could come up with WHATEVER kind of stripes I wanted. I adore self-striping, but I don’t always get the same gauge or use the same number of stitches the designer intended, so sometimes my stripes are a little wonky. With this new method, I can get the stripes of my heart’s desire and put those minis and leftovers to good use!

These socks are knit in the round from top cuff to top cuff and are separated in the middle after knitting. An afterthought heel is knit and then the toe is knit.

This pattern leaves lots of room for interpretation! Enjoy them as super scrappy and stashbusting as you desire, or make something more planned out!

I’ve designed these socks to make YOU happy. They are called Snip Snap Stripes because they can be made in a snap! Knit them in whatever way makes you happy. 9inch circs, DPNs, Magic Loop, and any size needle you like for achieving your perfect fabric works with this method. They are easily customized-I’ll share how in the pattern.
