Droughtlander is finally coming to an end! With the return of Jamie and Claire, I just had to do a traditional MKAL (mystery knit-a-long). This season, I was inspired by Marsali and Fergus; they are my favorite characters in the series, but I think they are a little underrated sometimes.
The Snow and Ashes MKAL requires 3 colors of fingering weight yarn, in subtly contrasting colors. The Tosh kits are sold out, but this is great opportunity to stash dive for 3 different colors of fingering weight yarn. The most import thing is that you like how they look together and there must be at least a little contrast between them - it can be subtle though!
The patterning includes stripes, slipped stitches, lace, and mosaic colorwork. Only one color is worked per row, and it is suitable for intermediate/adventurous beginners.
Yarn
- Color 1 (C1): 350 yards of fingering weight yarn. Shown In: Madelinetosh TML - Fergus (Dark Purple)
- Color 2 (C2): 350 yards of fingering weight yarn. Shown In: Madelinetosh TML - Germain (Medium Purple)
- Color 3 (C3): 350 yards of fingering weight yarn. Shown In: Madelinetosh TML - Marsali (Lt Purple Speckle)
the original kit colors are sold out, however, you can make this shawl with 3 contrasting fingering weight colors - it’s great for stash diving!
