Use this crochet pattern to make a crochet messy bun hat that features the beautiful texture of the star stitch. This pattern is written to fit an average adult.

This pattern is an intermediate level crochet pattern. The abbreviations/stitches used in this pattern include: ch, sl st, BLO, SC, HDC, and Star Stitch. Instructions for the star stitch are included.

This pattern requires approx. 130 yds. of Caron Cakes yarn (’Faerie Cake’ pictured) or a similar category 4 yarn. If you substitute a different yarn please check your gauge to make sure the hat will fit. You will also need a 5.5mm crochet hook.
