Snow Flower Lace
I came up with the idea for this shawl while travelling last year, and to be honest I made it to use some leftovers, but then I discovered it was actually looking good, so I made drawings from the lace edging and put it somewhere thinking maybe one day…
One year went by before a fellow raveler reminded me about the shawl asking me when I was going to get this pattern done. Being in lockdown with a lot of time of my hands, I found this to be an excellent idea and started the job of making my shawl again.
With the help of some wonderful testers I ended up finishing. The charts are hand written because I don’t like the digital solutions (I have a feeling I will have to start getting used to this if I want to continue designing)
I’ve used my Wollmeise lace, but I am sure any lace or fingering weight yarn will do just as well.
This shawl is made in one go, so if you have enough yarn in one skein you can end up just having two yarn ends to weave in.
My shawl ended up measuring 172cm from side to side and 31cm from top to bottom at deepest point, after blocking.
