About this Pattern
I’ve created what I call a classic soft/loud, or boring/fun, or easy/hard shawl: sections that are technically more interesting and challenging are followed by panels of relaxing, easy garter stitch. To make it even more fun, I’ve included colour play in the first part of the shawl, striping your three colours together in different combinations. The second part of the shawl is a repeat of the first - but using each colour on its own, giving it time to shine! Finally, it’s finished off with a delicate crochet pom-pom border (or an alternate picot bind-off for those who only knit!).
This is a really fun shawl that will work with a range of colour palettes. Raid your stash for those beautiful, speckled hand-dyed skeins you’re saving for something special or pull together some high contrast saturated colours to make those textured stitches and colour-blocked stripes pop!
Skills Needed
Some of the techniques used are: iCord tab cast on; Pearl Brioche (the easiest of all brioches!); Irish Mesh Lace; and Slipped-Stitch Columns. I would suggest this pattern is for intermediate knitters or beginners who love a challenge and feel confident they can problem-solve when things go wrong! And if you’re not sure about the problem-solving, I’m always one message away and very happy to help!
