Snow in Summer Scarf
This pattern is available via LoveCrafts!
This lovely summer scarf is great at warding off both overzealous air-conditioning and those cool breezes that occasionally rise in the summer months. Knit out of cotton with a snowflake (or is it flowers?) eyelet motif, the scarf/stole adds nice weight around your shoulders without the heat retention of a wooly garment.
2nd Time Cotton is spun from recycled cotton from the “fiber industry”, with enough acrylic content to make it smoother on the hands and in the washing machine.
Likewise, this scarf can be recycled—fold it lengthways when the weather gets cold to make a nice warm-climate “winter” accessory.
The scarf uses almost exactly two skeins of the 2nd Time Cotton. If you wish to lengthen the scarf you will need another skein. Additionally, you can add width to the scarf in 3.5in (9cm) increments by increasing the number of stitch repeats worked widthwise. To make a 15in (38cm) wide stole you will need approximately 500yd (460m) of worsted-weight yarn.
