Snowed In Bedfellow
When it’s time to cuddle under a throw for
movie night or snuggle down under your duvet in
bed, this cozy bedfellow will make great company.
Covering your hot water bottle in squashy garter
stitch softness, it will be your new best friend on
frigid winter nights. Personalize it with your
initial for a colorful touch of whimsy or as a
charming gift.
Pattern Notes
This pattern is worked seamlessly in the round
starting from the middle to the bottom, then the
provisional cast on edge is worked from the middle to
the top in two pieces, the button band which is
attached to the bottom half, then the top is knit in the
round. The monogram is worked over the stockinette
oval with duplicate stitching. Alternately, you may
omit the oval if you want to go monogram-less.
A provisional cast on is usually worked by
taking scrap yarn and crocheting a chain, picking up
and knitting into the bumps along the back of the
chain. Once the crocheted yarn is removed you have
live stitches with which to work that makes a
seamless continuation of the fabric. If you are new to
these techniques there are many good instructional
videos online for both provisional cast on and duplicate
stitch.
