Snowfall
Snowfall is a wintry sweater with a pretty snowstorm in the yoke. It is worked seamlessly in the round, top down. I designed it for handspun yarns. Due to its ten sizes, it can easily be implemented with your gauge with almost any yarn thickness. It will surely look nice with industrial yarn, too. The body length is easily customizable, but changing it will also affect the yardage, so please keep that in mind.
If you are spinning yarn for the sweater, there are many options. The snowflake pattern will look particularly nice if you spin the coordinating color thinner, but twist najavo so that it has a slightly smaller WPI (means it’s slightly thicker) than the main color in which you knit the rest of the sweater.
Colorwork is ideal for very brightly colored, dyed rovings or batts or color gradients. You can put your colored fibers in clothing without them forming stripes and looking too colorful.
YARN
Main Color: Fingering (14 WPI) yarn with about 415 yds /380 m / 100g.
950 (1000, 1100, 1200, 1300,) 1450, 1500, 1900, 2000, 2300 yds / 870 (915, 1000, 1100, 1190) 1325, 1370, 1740, 1830, 2100 m
Coordinating Color: Fingering (14 WPI) or Sport (12 WPI) yarn 190 (200, 210, 220, 240) 255, 270, 290, 300, 330 yds / 175 (182, 192, 200, 220) 230, 250, 265, 275, 300 m
The yarn in the photo also is handspun. The yardage of hanspun yarn with different fibers may be shorter, however, it often takes you further than industrial yardages. Look at the WPI instead. For thicker yarns use your gauge and choose a smaller size that gives you the fitting bust circumference.
