The pattern calls for “bedspread weight crochet thread”.

There are other booklets (ASN 1033 and ASN 1038) which have more snowflakes by the same designer. The patterns in those booklets are similarly named. I’ve added “ASN 1025” to the pattern name to differentiate the designs more easily.
