Inspired by snowflakes, this cowl features stranded colour work (not double knitting) worked as a long tube and then grafted together to form a double layered fabric. Colours are reversed on the back of the cowl so it can be worn with either colour combination as the right side. The pattern includes links to tutorials.

Materials:
West Yorkshire Spinners Exquisite 4ply (4ply; 80% Falkland Island Wool/20% Mulberry Silk; 400m/ 437yds per 100g) x 2 skeins. Shown in shades: 148 Knightsbridge (C1) x 1 skein, 177 Baroque (C2) x 1 skein.
3.25mm (UK 10/US 3) circular knitting needles (60cm/24in long)
Stitch marker

Size:
Circumference: 74cm/29½in
Depth: 28cm/11¼in

Tension:
27 sts and 36 rounds over 10cm/4in in Chart after blocking.

Pattern Notes:
Any provisional cast-on method can be used. The live stitches from the provisional cast-on will be grafted to the live stitches at the end. Alternatively, use a regular cast-on method and cast-off stitches at the end then seam the cast-on edge to the cast-off edge.
