APPROXIMATE SIZE OF THE FINISHED SNOWFLAKE:
the doily will measure approximately 12.5” (32 cm) in diameter, if you use the recommended materials.
YARN USED FOR THIS CROCHET SNOWFLAKE:
100% cotton, worsted weight (#4), white. Approximately 1.67 oz (47 g), or 86 yds (77 m). And a small amount of golden yarn (about 10 yds / 9 m) for the slip stitch edge.

If you’re blocking it, you will need: a plastic or glass bowl to dip it, fabric stiffener – if you want to make if stiff, a washable blocking mat, rust proof pins to hold it in place while drying.
Gauge:
3.75” (9.5 cm) in diameter, the first 3 rounds of the pattern.
Gauge is not crucial. If you want to use your snowflake as an ornament, make it with crochet thread.
