Update your tree this Christmas with pretty white snowflakes. This snowflake motif is very easy and quick, so make a bunch and give to friends and family as gifts.

To crochet this snowflake, I used cotton thread size 10 and a 2 mm crochet hook. Its final size is 8 cm (about 3 inches) in diameter. You can use this pattern to create snowflakes in a variety of colors and yarn weights.
Besides the thread and hook, you will also need a needle to weave in loose ends and a pair of scissors.
If you want to stiffen the snowflakes you will need white school glue, stainless steel pins (or toothpicks), plastic wrap and some kind of foam/blocking board.
