Snowflake Striped Hat
I just love the mix of colours together with one of my favourite icons - the snowflake, paired with dotted stripes.
Size:
One size, to fit a medium adult head of 58 - 60cm/23 - 23.5 inches circumference.
Yarn:
4 colours of 8 ply/DK/light, 50gm balls of merino wool. I often use Debbie Bliss Rialto DK, Broadway Merino DK or Bellisimo DK super fine merino wool. Length of yarn is usually between 103 - 125 metres/112 - 137 yards per ball. Any wool of the same guage will be fine.
Suggested Needles:
3.25mm/US 3 DPNs,
OR 3.25mm/US 3 circular needle for casting on & knitting rib.
4mm/US 6 circular needle for hat body.
4mm/US 6 DPNs for shaping the crown.
Techniques:
Knitting in the round, knit & purl stitches, decreasing, catching floats, weaving. Snowflake Striped Hat is a jogless pattern.
Notions:
Stitch marker, tapestry needle.
