Snowflakes & Cocoa
About the Pattern:
Puffy, fluffy, snowflakes gently fall to the ground, each a unique geometric beauty. The earth is covered in a blanket of snow. We watch this frosty landscape through a window pane, with a toasty fire crackling on the hearth nearby and a cup of hot cocoa in hand.
These images conjure up the quiet, cozy days of winter, happily knitting, enjoying comfort foods and maybe the company of friends. It is the warm atmosphere and feelings of quiet contentment, defined by the Danes as hygge.
The Snowflakes & Cocoa Cowl, whether you are knitting or wearing it, become a part of this comfortable experience.
Pattern Notes:
This cowl is knit in the round using stranded color work as well as braided edgings.
The cowl is constructed using 4 repeats of the snowflake chart.
There are video links within the digital format to help with new techniques such as braided edgings or how to capture long floats.
One finished chart panel, including braided edgings will measure approximately 8.5” tall X 6.5” wide.
Finished Measurements: Cowl circumference: 26” (66 cm), Cowl height: 8.5” (21.5 cm)
Materials:
1 skein each of Main Color (MC): Ruari (red) and Pattern Color (PC): Glenveagh Castle (gray) - but an alternate was knit using Meara (dark blue) and River Esque (light blue)
