Snowflakes in Starry Skies Mittens
These two-color stranded mittens evolved from a desire to see the stars and snowflakes again. As a Canadian living in Los Angels, there are many things I miss about home, but around Christmas time the things I miss most are the lovely soft winter snowfalls and the picturesque starry skies. Driven by a desire to represent these things in a mitten I went pattern hunting, but I just couldn’t find the right one! Instead, I decided to make my own Norwegian snowflake pattern, using ideas and motifs from a few other patterns and books and pairing it with Starry yarn. I particularly love the dark blue starry color since it reminds me of dusk at winter with just the faint hint of Aurora Borealis. Enjoy!
