Snowflakle
This is a fundraising pattern for my late brother, Mino (1971-2004).
“Snowflakle” is the third design for the “Colorful Nicole” cowl series. It has “odd number stitch” cables with several distinctive ktbl rib, next to the reverse stockinette stitch. You will have to find your own rhythm to knit through the irregular sequence of stitches, but once you get on that rhythm, you won’t want to stop until you finish. It’s a non-stop quick knit.
Skills required: k, ktbl, p, C1F2 (Slip 1 purlwise onto cable needle, hold in front, k2, k1 from cable needle), C2F1,(Slip 2 purlwise onto cable needle, hold in front, k1, k2 from cable needle)
Note: “ktbl2” means “ktbl twice, NOT k2tbl (k2tog through the back loop).

All the proceeds of this pattern will be donated to the Minoru Hokari Memorial Scholarship Fund at the Australian National University. My late brother, Minoru Hokari (“Mino” 1971-2004) died of cancer at the age of 32. The scholarship fund supports young scholars who study Indigenous Australians through fieldwork. We are trying to fully fund it to achieve its perpetuity. Please help.
Please visit Being Connected with HOKARI MINORU to meet Mino.
