Snowman
SNOWMAN
These cute Snowmen can be filled with candy or other small surprises. A great gift for young and old.
Used as decoration they make real eye-catchers, too.
All steps are explained in detail in words and pictures, so this pattern is suitable for (practiced) beginners as well.
This pattern contains 14 pages of crochet instructions and 14 pages of detailed step-by-step instructions.
Used techniques (US crochet terms): magic ring, chain, slip stitch, single crochet, increases and (invisible) decreases, crocheting in front loops and back loops – explained, changeing yarn-color.
The figures are crocheted in continuous rounds/spirals as well as back and forth in rows.
With 3.0 mm hook and DK yarn the Snowmen get to be 16 x 9 cm tall (without arms).
You need it smaller or bigger? No problem! Simply use lighter or heavier yarn.
MATERIAL
- 3.0 mm crochet hook
- tapestry needle
- stitch-markers
- scissors
- stuffing
- 12 mm safety-eyes
- optional (if you don’t want to use crocheted buttons): 2 buttons to sew or glue on (15 mm in diameter)
DK yarn:
- 56g white for body, head and arms
- 2g orange for the nose
- 35g for the body’s inner part, the pompom and the hat’s rim
- 15g for hat and scarf
- 1g black for crocheted buttons
- some black for the mouth
