This design started by purchasing a cute set of buttons, and went from there! The hat features a wide ribbed brim with a seed stitch overlap which provides a place to sew those cute buttons. The crown of the hat has a classic stranded snowflake design. The mittens feature a wide ribbed cuff and gusset thumb. The snowmen on the mittens have happy duplicate-stitched faces, and are wearing hats that match the big hat.

• Black (mitten eyes and mouths): A couple yards of scrap yarn
• Orange (mitten noses): Less than a yard of scrap yarn
