Snowman Hat Appliqué Crochet Pattern

Snowman, Snowman, come to play! Let’s crochet a fun appliqué today!

It’s quick, it’s easy, and it’s perfect for adding a little holiday cheer to anything from a festive blanket to an Advent calendar surprise.

Materials Needed

• DK or weight 3 yarn (acrylic or cotton) in black, red and green. I used Paintbox Yarns Simply DK which comes in a 5 Ball Color Pack
• Crochet hook that fits your yarn. For this project I used a 3 mm hook.
• A tapestry needle
• A pair of scissors

Abbreviations
ch = chain
sc = single crochet
st = stitch
sts = stitches
surface crochet
fo = fasten off

Skill Level
Beginner

Gauge
Gauge = 10 sc and 12 rows with a 3 mm crochet hook = 5 cm (2.5”).

Size
Height by width = (4 cm x 5 cm) (1.5 inches x 2 inches)

Yardage
Approx. = 5-7 meters (5.5 to 7.5 yards)

Notes
- You can make the pattern larger or smaller by changing the type of yarn and/or hook size.

• Numbers at the end of each row (in brackets) indicate the number of final stitches in that row.

• Please note that I use US crochet terms.
