This adorable snowman wants to jump up to the top of your tree and cheer in the holidays with a jaunty hello! Made with bulky yarn, you can whip him up in just a few hours. You can customize him to match your decorations. Also pictured on this tree is my Christmas Garland in various colors and sizes for a handmade Christmas look. Who wants a snowman hug?
Please note: I use a Stacked Double Crochet to start each row. I have an explanation on my blog at http://www.carochetdesigns.com/starting-stitches/ Because i use this technique, my pattern does not have instructions for the first stitch.
Materials needed:
1 large ball each of Bernat Blanket in Coal and Whipping Cream
1 ball each of Bernat Softee Chunky in White, Emerald, and Berry Red
Small amount (30 yards or so) of Bernat Softee chunky in pumpkin or other orange substitute
Embroidery needle
12 gauge wire (available in craft stores) to support arms
Something to stuff head and hat (packing materials are perfectly fine!)
gauge is not terribly important for this pattern
Snowman Head and Hat are approximately 17 inches from top of hat to bottom of head, with an additional 5 inches in width from the scarf.
