This is a pattern for a snowman with a windspinner-body. You can hang it in your Christmas tree as an ornament, or outside in the wind to enable the spinning fun!

It’s a written pattern with several pictures added. The level is intermediate.

Stitches and (US)terms used in this pattern:

  • mc = magic circle
  • ch = chainstitch
  • foundation chain
  • sc foundation chain (you can use chainstitches instead)
  • sc = single crochet
  • slst = slipstitch
  • hdc = half double crochet
  • dc = double crochet
  • sc (or hdc, dc etc. ) increase
  • sc (or hdc, dc etc. )decrease
  • flo = frontloop only
  • blo = backloop only
  • picot

I used acrylic yarn (Scheepjes Colourcrafter/Stylecraft Special dk), which is
295 m/ 322 yards per 100 gram, and a 3.5 mm hook, head, nose and arms with
a 3.0 mm hook.
My snowman windspinner was about 6.5 cm/2.5 inches diameter and 10 cm/4 inches high.
You can use other yarn thicknesses, the spinner will be bigger or smaller in that case.

For this pattern you need:
-about 35 meters of yarn in total, most of it white
Apart from the white, you need some black, orange, red and brown yarn.
-some stuffing
-a cord for hanging the spinner. A single string of your yarn will work too.
-optional: some beads
