When the snow melts in the Sierra Mountain Range of California, the John Muir Trail becomes like a maiden blushing with the sweetest colors in nature, and from the frozen snow emerges delicate beauty to capture one’s heart. From my fondness of the wild alpine landscape in Spring, has emerged these colorwork half-mitts, gauntlets, or mittens.

Mitts to go with Snowmelt Tam. Knit in-the-round Duplicate stitching on the flowers at finish, for beautiful meadow affect. Instruction is for fingerless mitts but included are options for long gauntlets with shaping, and for full mittens.

For Large/XL Mitts use sport-weight yarn aiming for 6-6.5 sts = 1”.
