Meet the Snowshoe Parade hat! This sweet pixie-hood style hat was inspired by late 1940s and early 1950s ski wear, and it possesses a special magic trick: IT’S REVERSIBLE!
Knit all in one piece, this cheeky worsted weight hat is engineered to keep you warm and fashionable for the cool days ahead. The hat is started at the center back, and is worked towards the brim, which gets that delightful curved shape from a couple German short rows. You then switch to the second color and knit the inner layer in reverse order. Once the body of the hat is finished, you’ll make a quick i-cord tie, and pick up and knit around the selvedge edges to create the i-cord channel. Fold over the brim of the hat, and voila! You now have not one color-block pixie hat, but two!

This pattern is great for an adventurous beginner wanting to challenge themselves, or for a seasoned knitter looking to hone in on their finishing work skills.
