Hi loves! Snowtrekker is a cozy cuddly snuggle on a blustery day (it is currently 19°F in New York). It perfectly fills in the spot where your winter coat zips up to, while providing a soft squishy comfortable cushion to hold warmth in by preventing your body heat from escaping upward.

Snowtrekker with its fun eyelet pattern is a bandana cowl ponchette capelet that is first worked flat back and forth from the front bottom tip upward, and then is joined and worked in the round. It is shown here worked in bulky (yellow) and in worsted (white handdyed) weights. For bulky weight (yellow), use the larger needle size listed here; for worsted weight (white handdyed), use the smaller needle size and do two additional eyelet pattern repeats.

This pattern design in US knit terms may not be distributed or sold as your own, but feel free to sell a finished item made from this pattern.

needles: for bulky use size US 13 (9mm) circular needles ~16-24” long or for worsted use size US 10.5 (6.5mm) circular needles ~16-24” long

yarn: one skein Loops & Threads Powdery of weight Bulky #5 or one skein Birdies Knits 100% Organic Cotton Hand Dyed yarn of weight Bulky (it’s more of a true worsted or maybe aran weight)

other materials: one stitch marker

size: adult

gauge: not crucial for non-fitted items; for bulky version, 4” = 11 stitches x 20 rows

skills: know how to:
c/o – cast on
k – knit
p – purl
pm – place marker
yo – yarn over increase
k2tog – knit two stitches together decrease
m1r – make one increase leaning right
m1l – make one increase leaning left
b/o – bind off
