About the Snowy Caps pattern
The Snowy Caps is a two-color stranded colorwork slouchy fit beanie. The beanie is worked in the round from the bottom up.
The design of this beanie is a very relaxed slouchy fit. However the pattern comes with lots of options for customization so that you can get the fit that you would like. Included in the pattern is a specific section on customization and how to modify the pattern to suit your individual style.
Fits Sizes:
Small 18-20, (Medium 20-22, Large 22-24) inches |
Small 45.75-50.75, (Medium 50.75-56, Large 56-61) cm
Gauge Information
Gauge swatch instructions are included in the pattern, but you an of course knit your gauge swatch how you like. The recommendations are good for beginner knitters or to those who are new to stranded color work so that they can practice floats before they knit this project.
To knit the cap you will need:
- US size 7, (4.5mm) knitting needles circular or double pointed as you prefer, or whatever size is needed to obtain gauge.
- Two Colors (prefer one to be variegated with no shade matching with the second color) Worsted-Weight 4 ply, superwash merino wool. In two colors one tonal (or solid) and one variegated.
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle
- Beginning of round stitch marker
- Additional stitch markers as desired (up to 10)
- Pom-pom
