Look at these lovely little sheep playing in the snow! Knitted from the top down with a ribbed cuff, these socks have a stranded colorwork body and an afterthought heel construction. The toe is a wedged construction with a grafted finish. After completion there is an option to duplicate stitch some wooly hats on to one or more of the sheep in any colour of your choice.

Three sizes to fit foot circumference 19-21 cm, 21-23 cm, 24-26 cm (8, 9, 10 inches). Further sizes can we achieved by going up or down a needle size. Sample shown is knit in size 2 for shoe size US 8.5 (EU39, UK 6).

Materials - use any 4 ply sock yarn of your choice. Sample uses Coop Yeah Sock Yarn in Lapis and Cascade Heritage in Buff.

Needles: 2.5mm (US 1 1/2) for ribbing and 3.0 mm (US 2 1/2) for stranded colourwork. Circular for magic loop, 9 inch circular or DPN’s as preferred.

Gauge: 36 sts and 40 rounds to 10 cm (4 x 4 inches) square in stockinette.
