So Cozy Seer Sucker Socks
Winter has always made me want to seek out the comfortable things, chunky sweaters, fuzzy blankets, and warm socks. Being cozy is the best part of winter, and these socks are the cherry on top of a snuggly day in.
Starting with a cuff down construction, these socks have a slipped stitch heel, short rows for the heel, and picked up slipped stitches to form the gusset. Using a simple pattern repeat with knitting and purling for the leg and instep, these socks knit up quickly into a faux quilted texture. The texture is very cozy (hence the name), and best shown off with a solid, tonal, or gently variegated yarn.
Sizing is determined by the circumference around the widest part of your foot. Typically this is the ball of the foot, but could also be the arch. Please measure using a measuring tape, and then either go up or down a size depending on how your like your fit.
- Small- 7 inches (18cm)
- Medium- 8 inches (20cm)
- Large 9 inches (23 cm)
If you need to go even smaller or larger, please message me and I will send notes on which areas to adjust.
Gauge is 8 st. x 12 rows for 1” square in stockinette stitch when knit with US1 (2.25mm) needles.
Needles: Size US 1 (2.25mm), 32” circular for magic loop OR 9” short circulars OR DPNS.
Yarn: 1 Skein Fingering Weight/ Approx. 415 yds. / 100g per skein
Notions: Stitch markers, Tapestry Needle.
Yardage is variable dependent on leg and foot length. For one small pair I knit up I used approx. 212 yds., and for my personal large pair I used approx. 320 yds. If you purchase a skein that has at least 400 yds. you ought to have enough yarn to complete both socks.
I highly recommend the Luxurious Base yarn or the Blissful Toe Base sock yarn from Beautiful Simplicity Fibre Co.
