So Many Warm Mittens
It’s time to get warm! Cold hands=cold heart. Not anymore. Knit any one of the 4 mitten designs onto a unisex mitten. The four designs include snowflake, snowman, snowy tree, and cardinal. They are all fun knits that shouldn’t take too long to complete. Find some matching hat patterns in my ravelry store.
The pattern is written in one size but you can add stitches to make it larger without affecting the picture or add rows to make it longer. As written, a mitten is approx. 8 inches in circumference and 11 inches long.
I used Aran weight yarn (8wpi). If you use another weight of yarn or are a tight knitter when doing stranded knitting, make adjustments by either adding stitches or going up a needle size.
You can easily make these in less than a skein of yarn. Two of the patterns use only two colours which is a fairly easy knit. Make sure to carry long floats at the back of your work. The snowman uses three colours and the cardinal can be done either in two colours and over knit the beak and stem he sits on or use some leftover to knit these.
These mitten patterns have not been test knit. Send any suggestions or questions to carolasheartstrings@gmail.com or to my Ravlery username:Cbaker259
