So Much Time Slipped By
Slipped stitches are fun and provide interesting textures. Notice how the fabric is not as stretchy as regular knitting; it is more like weaving. Slip stitches make a tighter fabric, so the bigger needles help.
For this one a DK weight variegated yarn works well. The sample was done in Twilley’s Freedom Spirit yarn, 2 skeins (about 300 yards). Using two colors in slipped stitches will give even more interesting effects. Knit loosely and when slipping stitches leave enough slack so the fabric doesn’t pucker. Always slip as if to purl.
