Sock Change Purse
Another great way to show your knitting colors. This change purse (or case for your stitch holders) teaches two techniques: a figure-8 toe-up cast on and a short row heel.
The version pictured is knit with silk, which makes it really special. Knit with sock yarn, you can coordinate with your favorite socks!
Skill level: Experienced. Knitting in the round, figure-8 cast on, short rows, fine gauge
Size: Width at “leg” 2 1/4”. Top to toe excluding
frame: 5 1/2”.
Gauge: 40 sts = 4”/10 cm (measured in st st
worked in the round).
Yarn: Sock weight yarn, 125 yards (16 to 20
wpi).
Needles and Notions: US Size #00 (1.75 mm) double-pointed needles or size to achieve gauge. Sewing needle small enough to go through the purse frame holes, 2 ¼“ /5.7cm purse frame (available at your local yarn shop or lacis.com).
Optional: lining material.
