My friend had her ankle in a cast for a while, and asked me to knit something to keep her toes warm. She wanted sock yarn so she wouldn’t get too warm, and she wanted it to tuck down inside the cast.

NOTE: Tucking it down inside the cast didn’t work very well, it wouldn’t stay on when she got up and walked around. I ended up making it several inches longer and she wore it OVER the cast, which worked much better. The pattern was updated for the longer size on 2/9/11 (picture hasn’t been updated yet).
