Sock Monkey Fingers Popped Out
Inspired by those socks that sock monkeys are made from, I wanted to make wrist warmers with that sort of style. (And I need another pair of wrist warmers to add to my collection!) In case you’re wondering, my DH came up with the title of this pattern. :) (I’m not all that creative when it comes to titles for my projects!)
There’s enough yardage in the grey yarn to make TWO pairs of wrist warmers. Minimal amounts of red and white are needed, so if you’ve got scraps of the red and white paton’s classic wool from other projects, they’re ideal to be used up for these. Otherwise, a new skein of each will go a long way! The first picture is the original pattern (k2, p2), the second pic is with the variation (k1, p1)
Yoelknits has created a slight variation to this pattern, she creatively added sock monkey heads used to cover the fingers! Her pattern (3rd picture) uses Rowan RYC Cashsoft instead of Paton’s Classic Wool, so the tension’s been adjusted too. The link to her blogged pattern can be found here.
I’ve done my best to write the pattern as accurately as possible. If there are any problems with the pattern - if there’s wrong terminology or if something isn’t clear, please let me know!
