Inspirationen till den här sockan kom när jag lyssnade på en ljudbok som heter Tistelblomman (av Amanda Hellberg). Jag gillade namnet, och har alltid gillat Skottland. En tanke dök upp om att göra en socka med just det namnet, idén till att göra tistlarna föddes och sockan Tistelblomman var född.

Det här är kanske inte en nybörjarsocka. Men mönstret är egentligen inte särskilt svårt när man väl fått in snitsen. Att göra tistlarna i en annan färg är effektfullt, men ger också en del trådändar att ta hand om (bara en liten varning i all välmening).

Sockan stickad från tån och upp, med en kortvarvshäl. Tistlarna skapas framför allt genom lyfta maskor.

Mönstret kommer i 3 storlekar: 54, 62 och 70 maskor runt foten.

I got the inspiration for this sock when listening to an audio book called Tistelblomman (“the Thistle flower”, by Amanda Hellberg). I really liked the name of the book and I always liked Scot’s. I got the idea of naming a sock with that name, the pattern with lifted stitches came to me and the sock the Thistle flower was born.

I wouldn’t recon this pattern if you are completely new to knitting. But the pattern isn’t that hard when you get the hang of it. Making the thistles in another colour is really eye catching but will leave you with a bunch of extra f ends to weave in (just a little hands up).

This sock is knitted toe up, with a short row heel. The pattern is mostly crested with lifted stitches.

The pattern includes 3 sizes: 54, 62 and 70 stitches around the foot.
