These socks use worsted weight yarn at a gauge of 5 stitches/7.25 rows/“ on a bulky or mid-gauge machine. No ribber required. They pattern includes an article on dying your own self-patterning yarn. Sock is knitted flat and seamed. Top is mock rib. Those with ribbers may substitute true 1X1 rib. Sample socks are shown with rib and foot knitted in a solid color. Ladies 5-14, men 3-12 in US shoe sizing. Instructions for converting the pattern for standard gauge use are included.
