Socks with afterthought heel
This pattern is for socks with peasant heel (also called ‘afterthought heel’).
The pattern gives 8 different sizes, ranging from newborn to adult size. It is very versatile and can, with a little practice, be adapted to fit any foot size.
The pattern is designed for 4-ply yarn and 2 3/4 mm needles (set of double pointed needles).
The pattern is fairly basic, but to follow it you need to be able to do the following:
- Knit and purl
- Knit in the round with a set of double pointed needles
- Cast on
- Reduce (psso and knit2tog - explained in the pattern)
- Pick up stitches
The pattern includes one page of written instructions and two further pages with pictorial information for added clarity.
Enjoy!
