This cowl was designed to be easily adaptable to use project leftovers, mini-skeins or other stash yarns. Yardage is provided to reproduce the cowl exactly as shown here, or to change it up. With its generous height, the cowl may be worn folded into a double layer, scrunched, or pulled up over your ears.

Knitting starts with the lace-patterned central panel worked from the bottom up, then stitches are picked up along each side of the central panel and worked sideways to the back of the neck. The sides are joined with a 3-needle bindoff, so there’s no sewing involved! Mosaic knitting is used to create colorwork the easy way, with only one color used per row.

As shown here, yardage in Hazel Knits Artisan Sock is: 200 yds MC (Collegiate), 58 yds CC1 (Hawkeye), 28 yds CC2 (Nickel)
